We are a social enterprise promoting walking and cycling for leisure, health and active travel in, around, to, and from Galashiels in the beautiful Scottish Borders.

Our hire fleet includes Trek leisure hybrid bikes, e-bikes, children’s bikes, a trike and an e-trike. All are suitable for use on tarmac and gravel paths.

WE ALSO OFFER BIKE SERVICING AND REPAIRS. PLEASE CONTACT US IF YOU NEED YOUR BIKE SERVICED OR REPAIRED.

Come and explore Galashiels and the surrounding Scottish Borders. We can provide you with information about local routes and suggest places to visit along your route.

We are open Wednesdays – Saturdays 10am-4pm (occasionally closed during those times when we are out on activities!)

We also offer regular guided walks and led cycle rides.

We organise the Galashiels Walking Festival in Spring, and a Walking & Wheeling Festival in Autumn.

Welcome to Hike & Bike Hub, Galashiels

We are a community-led social enterprise, promoting walking and cycling for health, leisure and active travel around Galashiels. We provide social opportunities for cycling and walking, which both contribute to improved physical health and mental wellbeing. We also want to promote everyday acceptance and inclusion of neurodiversity, particularly autism.

We would love you to support us by becoming a member. Membership is free!

Becoming a member shows that you support the aims of Hike & Bike Hub. As a member, you can have your say about what services and activities we should consider offering from the Hub.

The Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) confirmed our registration as a SCIO on 9 September 2022.

We officially opened Hike & Bike Hub, Galashiels SCIO SC 051989 on 4 February 2023.

Take time to explore Galashiels, and the surrounding area, by walking or cycling. They are great ways to get around, and both help to maintain good physical health and mental wellbeing.

Walking or cycling for shorter, local journeys can help reduce carbon emissions.

Hike & Bike Hub entered the Town’s bike decorating competition in 2022, to celebrate the Tour Series coming to town. Our decorated bike went on its own tour around the town, and has sat outside the Hub ever since! It has had an upgrade to the original design, with our new logo added and it now sits outside the new Hub on Douglas Bridge.

Hike & Bike Hub also aim to promote everyday acceptance of neurodiversity, particularly autism. Information about autism, and some of the myths surrounding it is available on the “about us” page of our website.

As parents of a young autistic adult, Hike & Bike Hub co-founders, Angela & George, understand some of the issues their daughter has faced, particularly around employment, and that those issues are shared by far too many neurodivergent people. So, with that in mind, Hike & Bike Hub is aiming to become an inclusive employer.

Hike & Bike Hub offers affordable bike hire, e-bike hire, trike / e-trike hire, bike repairs & servicing, weekly walks, regular led cycle rides and information about local walking and cycling routes. Muddy bikes, boots and paws are welcome in the Hub!

We also organise Galashiels Walking Festivals each Spring and Autumn.

Cycle repairs and servicing are provided by a professional bike mechanic, who can also support people who want to learn to do their own bike repairs and maintenance.

Hike & Bike Hub is a “pay what you can” social enterprise, with those who can afford to pay our suggested prices for bike hire, bike servicing and led cycle rides helping to cover those costs for people who cannot.
